History

Computer Science Department at NCSC- Bharuch was established in the year 1986. with strength of 30 students. It offers the graduation degree in Computer Science.

Our college is the first to offer this service in Veer Narmad South Gujarat University.Keeping in mind the interest of the IT professions and keen interest of students in IT field, with the help of our department, the college has also started BCA course in 2009.

For the higher degree of students with the help of our department, college has started the MCA (Master of Computer Application) in 1999 which is now running as a separate college named NCCA (Narmada College of Computer Application).

Till year 35 batches of B.Sc. (Computer Science) and 2 batches of BCA have passed out among which students have launched their career not only in good companies in India but also abroad in America, UK, Europe and are working with some of the most renowned and the largest IT companies of the world like TCS, Emphasis.

From the very first day the classes are carried out in own campus equipped with all necessary facilities and in an easily reachable location.

By doing BCA or B.Sc. (Computer Science)the students’ talent flowers better in technical line. They can see themselves as a Principal Architect/ Super Coder/Designer of SW systems; or of Products in future. Apart from this they can go for the higher degree like MCA, MSc (It) MSc. (CS) etc. By getting high score in entranceexam of MCA, students can get admission directly in second year.

Teaching Method

 

  • The teaching method of the program are interactive and participative in nature.

  • The regular theory lectures are supplemented by practical and case studies.

  • The lectures are conducted by using projectors.

  • Every year students are required to visit other organizations and write their project reports to be submitted to the faculties.

  • Experienced teachers from relevant fields are invited as visiting faculties.

  • Classroom participation, assignments,online quiz, weekly tests,internal examinations, project reports, vivavoce etc are conducted to prepare self sufficient and confident young men and women to undertake self

  • employment or to seek employment in new areas.

We are investing a lot into imparting our students some of the best teaching facilities in the South West.


IT facilities with more than 70 computers including:-

  • Network lab with two high speed servers.

  • E-learning Portal – to enable access to key course information.

  • Learning materials, assignments and assessment grades online.

Computer Science Department organized inter college level symposium named Fledgers in December 2012.
